Ezra Tenenbaum

Operations director & systems builder

I'm a New York-based operations director for educational and mission-driven organizations. Since 2012, I've worked at Found Sound Nation (FSN), the nonprofit behind the international exchange program OneBeat. With the U.S. State Department, philanthropies and community partners, we've run residencies for 800+ socially engaged artists from 80 countries.

I've spent the past six years as FSN's Operations Director, and supported our transition from fiscal sponsorship to an independent 501(c)(3) with a $1M+ annual operating budget, our own payroll and benefits. As a member of the founding team, I've owned evaluation and compliance, managed budgets and reporting for our federal awards, supported audits and development, and hired and onboarded contractors and staff.

Much of my work involves designing systems. I helped develop an application flow handling 70,000+ registrations. Other projects include building a custom CMS for our non-technical staff, refining our CRM database, and setting up a remote access NAS for our media archive. Most recently, I led the build of Found Sound Commons, a learning space and community for our global alumni. I taught myself agentic AI tools in the process, and have since shown coworkers how to use them.

I've also run operations and logistics for 150+ FSN concerts, workshops and events across 37 cities worldwide. I served as Program Director for OneBeat Abroad, organizing residencies with U.S. Embassies and local partners in Taiwan, Ghana, Indonesia, Algeria and Lebanon. The U.S. Ambassador to Algeria called OneBeat Sahara “the best public diplomacy program” she had seen in her 35-year career.
